Completing SPARC

*The deadline to complete SPARC for this Semester is 10/6/2025.

All club leaders and Macaulay Scholars Council representatives are required to complete SPARC (Sexual & Interpersonal Violence Prevention and Response Course) Training within the academic year in which they are serving in their position.

You only need to complete SPARC once per academic year at your home campus; please submit the certificate HERE. 

Macaulay will not have its own SPARC course on Brightspace this year. Please complete SPARC at your home campus for this current year. It is the student’s responsibility for them to complete SPARC before our completion deadline each semester. See instructions below on how to complete your course:

Here is an easy step-by-step guide to access SPARC through Brightspace:

  1. Sign into your Brightspace account.
  1. Look through the course offerings.
  1. If you don’t see SPARC listed for Fall 2025, click on the Organizations tab at the top of the page.
  1. Find and click on your campus’ SPARC course for Fall 2025.
  1. Open the SPARC Training Module.
  1. Complete the program in one sitting. If you take a break, the program may start over, which can be frustrating. The training takes about 35–45 minutes.
  1. Complete the SPARC course and test.
  1. Take a screenshot of your certificate to save proof of completion.

SPARC Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Please disable pop-up blockers while using Brightspace.
  • Use Firefox or Google Chrome as your browser (complete on desktop or laptop, not on your phone)
  • Once the course is completed, take a screenshot of your certificate to save your completion.
  • If you are unable to find SPARC, please email your campus’ SPARC leader listed below and student.clubs@mhc.cuny.edu.
