Hosting a Community Service Event

If your student club or organization is planning a Community Service Event where students can receive Community Service hours to fulfill their Macaulay requirement, it is important to inform your attendees ahead of time how they will receive credit. When planning an event with a partner organization, make sure to confirm the following:

  • Details about who the volunteer supervisor is (their name, title, phone number, and email)
  • That the representative from the service organization onsite can provide students with a signature to sign off on their service completion
  • Details about the organization (Name, Address)
  • Details about the specific project and what students will be asked to do

For each participant to receive hours, the sponsoring organization must sign the community service verification form at the end of the event.

You can include the following blurb in your Community Service event page to ensure that students have all of the correct information to fill out their Community Service Verification Form:

To receive credit for your service hours, you must fill out the Community Service Verification Form and print it from your email BEFORE coming.
