Hello everyone, My name is Paris Harris and I am running for student council representative for Lehman College to help get the voices and ideas of our students heard.
As we venture into this new chapter of our lives it can get a little overwhelming. With new classes, new people and new responsibilities, it is important to have a community where we are grounded and supported. Which is why I would like to help create a safe and inviting environment for all Macaulay students.
It is also my priority to make sure that the Lehman college is included in all the Macaulay Honors College discussions and activities. Despite the fact that the Macaulay 2030 cohort at the other campuses may be larger than ours, it does not make our community any less capable, intelligent and deserving of recognition. I want to make sure that Lehman has a strong presence and recognizable accomplishments.
If elected I will make it my mission to work towards a more present student life and a more positive experience at Lehman College. But most importantly I will make sure to listen to the comments, concerns and suggestions of our students.
I am not just making empty promises, I have the expertise and leadership skills to make all of this possible. I believe that my 3 years of student council in high school as well as my year of peer mentorship will give me the hand I need to achieve all that I have promised.
