Hi guys I’m Sohani! A little bit about myself, Im Bengali, I like dancing, I love Heytea, and my favorite part of nyc is k-town.

I’m a biochemistry major and I know how competitive research opportunities can be. Cold emailing with no responses and applying to internships off LinkedIn with no updates? I’ve been through it all and I know how frustrating that is. Last year, I took initiative as vice president of my club, high school alliance of future physicians, to bring in multiple guest speakers that I have personally worked with from institutions such as Memorial Sloan Kettering and rockefeller university for my peers to build their network and receive shadowing opportunities, research positions and internships.

I have also arranged many opportunities for students to receive service credits by raising PPE supplies to support underserved healthcare communitys with sanitation and the well being of patients.
As students of CCNY, I know a lot of us are commuters and that commuting can be expensive. I want to advocate for more of the Macaulay funding to be spent on OMNY cards for all Macaulay students at the very least.
This summer I spent my time at the Victora Lab at Rockefeller University doing immunology research. A portion of that time, I spent teaching highschool students lab techniques, procedures and mentored them in creating their presentations since I was in their shoes the summer before. I have been part of the rockefeller community since my junior year of Highschool and hope to connect my fellow Macaulay peers!

I want to support our journey together on reaching our career goals, organize events to help out our community and fun events for us Macaulay peers to make new friends and connections, and increase our school spirit! Hi fellow Macaulay students!! My name is Favour, and I’m a freshman at City College.

My Experience and Skills:
In high school, during my junior and senior years, I served on the Principal’s Advisory Committee, where I reported on student culture and concerns and brainstormed initiatives to improve student mental health. I was president of the Black Student Union, where I planned events and presentations to inform students about Black history and culture. Also, I was president of my school’s women empowerment group called Sigma Sorority, which was all about empowering girls and making a positive impact. Alongside the girls in my club, we decorated the girls’ bathroom every year with positive affirmations and quotes while providing feminine products, perfume, and lotion. For the past three years, I have been involved with an organization, Girls for Gender Equity, where I advocated for bills and created and facilitated workshops centered around Black Feminism and social justice.

Why I Want Your Vote:
I want your vote because one of the biggest things I think we can do as people is to advocate. I believe using our voices can lead to change, and I want to be the voice that my fellow Macaulay students can use and rely on when they want to be heard. I promise to always listen, advocate, and take action on any concerns people may have.

If I am elected, I will use my voice to create a safe, empowering environment where real change can be seen, and where the voices and opinions of the Macaulay community can be heard and put into action.

WOW HI GUYS!! MY NAME IS VIVIAN!!

I’m so excited!! (And a little nervous to be totally transparent…) It is true. I am running for campus rep. Okay, so about me… I actually can’t stop yapping. I love talking and I really really love listening to how people experience their lives and what they like and EVERYTHING! I could go on about how much I love connecting with people and chatting… if you ask me to hangout you WILL end up in a walk and talk with me. You can’t escape it. I am interested in seriously everything. If I don’t know about something and you do, I WANT TO LISTEN TO YOU TALK ABOUT IT. I’ve loved anime and kpop since the dark ages (quarantine), been in crazy phases, reading is super fun, I like to dance, I love journaling… I‘ve been attempting sewing… (not going so good BUT I am a warrior I will get through this.)

I think by now you know I am very very curious. Curiosity is human nature, and I believe it drives us to do better, to learn more, to expand our worldview. Therefore, I am very interested in what our community has to say about what they want! For me, I would love to see many things change. For CCNY students, most of us take 1hr+ commutes to school. And a lot of us have to go through transfers, delays, and terrible conditions in the stations. 🫩. At the very least we should have free OMNY cards! And for most of us coming from public school, we are not in the position to buy a laptop for school. I would love to see what we could do about that! Laptops are always so important for college life, we all hear about it! I can relate, I will be using the library and my notebooks until I have enough for a laptop!

MY BIGGEST GOAL THOUGH!! Is of course, you know it, community building! I’m so excited I’m giggling as I write this. As you know I love interacting with people. So I’d 100% advocate for even more events. I am a FIRM believer of: the people around you make you better people. It’s fulfilling to have those connections with people. So obviously, I’d want to bring students together from all five boroughs and make more time for that connection! The baseline is everyone wants their people. Their village. I PINKIE PIE PROMISE YOU!! WE WILL HAVE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS!!

As for my experience, I was the co-president of NHS, the co-captain of dance, a peer mediator, and I was a writer for the school newsletter! I’ve also done several events for work, weddings, corporate events, pop-ups. I’m very adaptable and very pro-teamwork!!

Hello! My Name is Lola and I am running for student council to represent CCNY class of 2030!

★My experience★

I was an NYC Youth votes member for the 2024 cycle where I helped young people throughout New York register to vote.I would make phone calls, send messages, and set up accessible tables. I listened to their stories, answered their questions, and encouraged them to vote in elections all while keeping a neutral standing to ensure that their choice and voice was completely theirs. I also helped organize NYC Youth votes annual youth hearing event which allowed young New Yorkers to share their opinions regarding New York City’s local government. This summer internship inspired me to do something similar in my school which then led me to join the civics club the following year. I helped create a project labeled “No Food To Waste” where its main goal was to specifically prevent school food from being wasted. With the help of my fellow civics club members, a share table was implemented where students were allowed to put sealed food they didn’t want on the table for other students to enjoy. I also created a survey that was shared with not just my school, but the entire Washington Irvin campus which included other high schools. This survey showed food that was already on our menu and students just had to vote on what they liked best. After the voting period, I sent the results to District 2’s food office and students started seeing more of the food they liked, thus, wasting less food. I also

I want to help create an environment that is not just “student council voices above everyone else” because that was how it operated in my high school and it severely damaged school spirit. Everyone deserves to have input on what they want to see in their community and I would be honored to be one of the people who you can talk to and share ideas with. Hello Everyone!

My name is Monica. I am from Yonkers, and I am running to be your 2030 Macaulay Scholars Council Representative at City College. I love exploring the city, spending time with family and friends, and being involved in my community.

I come from a background deeply rooted in Caribbean heritage, faith, community, leadership, and the power of education. As an English major at CCNY with plans to focus on education or law, I am running to represent you on the Macaulay Scholars Council.

My leadership journey began in middle school tutoring students with special needs and reading morning announcements. Finding my voice behind the microphone gave me not only the courage to advocate for myself, but the passion to advocate for others. Over time, that passion grew into serving as High School Student Government President, varsity swim captain, a member of the district Code of Conduct Revision Committee, and a student advocate traveling to the State Capitol to fight for public education funding.

My experiences, whether competing as a student-athlete, organizing local holiday supply drives, or serving students directly in Puerto Rico, have taught me that leadership and service work in tandem. Being an athlete shaped my resilience and perseverance, while community organizing taught me that true leadership is a global responsibility to uplift others.

Words have the power to bridge communities and drive change. Macaulay’s multi-campus setup is one of our greatest strengths, but connecting our seven campuses requires intentional effort. As your representative, my platform centers on three key priorities: amplifying student voices by making sure your ideas and concerns directly inform Council decisions, increasing campus connections by organizing joint events across all seven CUNY campuses, and prioritizing student health by expanding access to mental health resources.

From leading student body initiatives to co-founding a student-led podcast to share our stories, I have dedicated my time to creating platforms where everyone feels heard. I am ready to bring that same dedication, energy, and advocacy to the Macaulay Scholars Council by listening to and serving our community.

Hi Macaulay Beavers!

My name is Arvin, and I’m running to be your 2030 MSC representative for City College! A little about me is that I’ll be studying Philosophy on the pre-law track, I love anime (Tokyo revengers 🔥), and I’m always watching the NBA (you’ll never guess my favorite active player).

What do I want to do as your 2030 rep??

I want to advocate for further investment into OMNY cards for Macaulay and CUNY students. I am appalled by how NYC has approached making transportation easier for public university students and really believe that more funding can be moved towards funding at least honors college students.
I hope to further unify our 8 college communities underneath Macaulay. Many people don’t know this until their upperclassmen years, but we get a separate graduation with our Macaulay peers! Graduation isn’t the time to recognize that we attend two colleges with two communities. The M Line group has tons of ideas underway on how we can unite the Macaulay further academically and socially.

How have I been a leader in the past?

Throughout High School I pursued one of my passions in environmental justice by joining a nonprofit called Kids Fight Climate Change. By my second year I was promoted to Director of External Affairs, due to my dedication in expanding our in-school educational seminars to FIVE different states. What’s more is that during my time in this organization, we were recognized by the United Nation on several occasions and accepted to be a Spectator Delegation at several UN Climate Change Conferences—most recently COP31 in Brazil!
In my junior year of High School I pursued an internship with the NYPD. Within this opportunity, my chief assignment was to assist in planning an annual community bonding event between my precinct and the local community of Bayside, Queens. Through my efforts, we were able to get over 600 community attendees as well as over 400 active duty officers!

Although I’ve contributed to a multitude of different organizations, I’ve chosen to highlight these two because of their community focus: the same aspirations I believe that I can foster among City College and Macaulay through the Scholars Council.

Hi everybody! I am from Queens, and I love hanging out with my friends, reading, and discovering new photobooths in the city!

In high school, as Secretary of NHS, I worked with our board to plan senior-year events like the awards ceremony, senior picnic, and Decision Day, which meant constantly gathering feedback from classmates and adjusting plans to fit what they actually wanted. As President of Academy Glamour Gals, I coordinated events to show up for the seniors in our community, visiting senior centers, writing personalized cards, making bracelets, and giving them makeovers to boost their self-confidence. As co-founder of the Academy Red Cross, I partnered with the Salvation Army to help raise over $2000 for care packages for families in our neighborhood over the span of 2 years, building that program into our school’s longest-running community initiative. Outside of school, I was given the opportunity to be a guest speaker at MoMI’s MLK Jr. Day event about the benefits of college access as a first-generation student, which pushed me to get comfortable speaking publicly about things that aren’t always easy to talk about and advocating for others.

At Macaulay Honors College, I want to showcase all the skills I have learned through the experiences and communities I have been a part of. I want to be the person who makes that communication easier, who makes it clear that students have a say in their school community and that complaints need to be acted on, not brushed aside. If elected, I’d push for two concrete things: a clear, low-pressure way for students to flag concerns to administration, so raising an issue never feels like a big deal, and better communication channels between our eight campuses to further invite collaboration and foster a sense of community. I’d run a quick poll early on to find out what new events and support students want throughout the semester, and work on making that happen. I love organizing events that are fun for all students to attend!

I am born & raised Suffolk County, Long Island, and graduated from John Glenn High School with a 98.61 uw gpa.

In my sophomore year, I founded my high school’s Medical Club to give students structured exposure to healthcare careers. I secured a partnership with the nonprofit Doctors of Tomorrow, which gave club members access to clinical shadowing opportunities and scholarships, which turned the club from a discussion group into a pipeline for tangible pre-professional experience. I complemented this with a term as Senior Class Vice President and President of Tri-M, as well as competitive involvement in Mock Trial, Varsity Soccer, Track, and Tennis, which honed my ability to lead teams, argue persuasively, and perform under pressure. For the past two years, I have also served as a music tutor through the Do Re Mi Project, teaching violin and trombone to 14 students across the globe virtually. My experience with the Do Re Mi Project taught me how to be adaptable, communicate clearly cross-culture, and patience when guiding the experience of others.

At Macaulay Honors College, I am majoring in Mathematics on the pre-medical track. This past summer, I completed over 130 hours of clinical shadowing across multiple specialties. The skills and lessons I learned from clinical encounters developed my understanding on how to create measurable impact on individuals and communities. I am running for Scholars’ Council because I want to bring this combination of organizational experience, academic training, and firsthand clinical exposure to a role where I can advocate directly for my peers and contribute substantively to the initiatives that shape the Macaulay community.
