My experience and skills:
In my junior and senior year, I balanced three different jobs at once, including a lead training position at a restaurant, where I learned valuable leadership and communication skills. Working multiple jobs at once also taught me a strong work ethic and how to thrive under pressure.
I’ve also volunteered at a pet shelter where I took care of many stray dogs and cats and assisted in the adoption process. Additionally, I have been involved in the Boy Scouts of America since first grade, spending over 200 hours giving back to the community through various service projects. After years of dedication and leadership I achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, a nationally recognized achievement.
Now just because I don’t have student government experience doesn’t mean I’m not a suitable candidate. Through many different leadership experiences I’ve learned how to serve as a leader, communicate with all kinds of people, and make good decisions when others are counting on me. These experiences have ultimately prepared me for bringing a new voice to the Macaulay Student Council and effectively representing our class.
Why I deserve your vote:
If I am elected, my biggest goal is to host events that students actually want to attend. These events would include internship opportunities, networking opportunities, and events where you can become friends and build relationships with other Macaulay students. Of course, I will make sure there’s free food at the majority of these events, if not all.
Most importantly, I want to be someone you feel comfortable coming to when you need something. Whether we are close friends, have only met once, or haven’t met at all, I want you to know that you can always reach out to me with ideas for the future, concerns, questions, or even if you need someone to talk to. I want to be able to represent everyone in our class, not just the people I know now.
If elected, I will be using @ajforcouncil on Instagram as a place where you can tell me what you want to see from the council. I plan on posting polls, Q&As, and opportunities so you know with 100% certainty my voice is representing yours. If you don’t have Instagram, come up to me and I will give you my number. If something matters to you, it matters to me.
My promise to you is that your voice will always be heard, and I’ll put everything I have into turning our ideas into reality. We only get one college experience, and I want to help make ours one that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.
