My name is Simon Myaskovsky (Simon Mya for short) and I am from Long Island. I would appreciate your vote for the opportunity to represent this year’s Macaulay Honors cohort of Freshman. My approach to every facet of my life has been to talk with people around me before I make a decision, no matter how important of a decision. My nature has always been to question, while increasing dialogue and listening to different points of view. Just ask my 8th grade science teacher how many questions I asked (spoiler alert: enough that he says “do you have a question” every time l see him). Throughout my time in high school, I made strong connections with my teachers and other administrators, connections that helped me when issues came up, or simply when I had a question (or many questions). I understand the beauty of Macaulay as that of a diverse group of capable and talented students, diverse in experiences and points of view, and I pledge to listen before making a decision that affects us freshman. I also understand that every student will have a different experience based on their major, but that there are issues that could be dealt with at different levels. As we start this school year and get accustomed to the newness of it all, we will see what needs to be done to better our experiences as Freshman. You can always speak or reach out in any way to discuss anything with me. I would greatly appreciate your support as I look forward to represent our collective interests in the Macaulay Honors Council as Freshman Class Representative.

And just remember, “Your Voice Counts with Mya”
