Hi everyone,
As you may, or may not know, my name is Ralph Osias and I’m a rising junior majoring in Political Science, Philosophy, and Economics. I’m excited to announce that I’ll be running for re-election as your MSC ’27 Rep!
In my capacity as a representative, I’ve served my past two years on the IT/Communications Committee, ensuring that important information for my cohort, and the general student body, was readily accessible, accurate, and easy to read through forwarding MSC meeting minute updates or sending out my personalized Mountain Lion Monitor newsletter which I handcrafted every month. Further, I was able to assist MSC by volunteering at highlight events such as the Halloween Party, Spring Formal, and more where I grew to value the essence of student connection and community that Macaulay offers! But most importantly, I cherished my role as an active support-system, problem-solver, and liaison for you all, ensuring that John Jay’s voice was heard and felt at Council every month.
Over the past two years, I’ve truly enjoyed serving as your MSC representative and going into my third-year, I believe that even more can be done! If re-elected, I’d like to bring more inter-grade, collaborative cohort events to John Jay and push for more sponsored professional opportunities tailored to the diverse backgrounds and interests of John Jay’s students. On Council, I’ve learnt a great deal about leadership, responsibility, and ensuring that all voices are handled with care. In building formative relationships with both our cohort and the Macaulay community, I’ve understood the incredible privilege it is to serve as the bridge for two vibrant campus communities and valued the work MSC does to champion inter-campus harmony and cooperation. As we approach the election season, It is my sincere hope that you will allow me to continue advocating on your behalf and building positive experiences for you all alongside a group of other hard-working, dedicated students who are passionate about cultivating a better Macaulay student experience for all.
