    Hey Macaulay Mountain Lions! 🦁

    My name is Asmita Saha, and I’m running to be your MSC Rep for City College (Go Beavers 🦫💜)!

    A little about me: I’m a Biomedical Engineering student who’s all about science, service, and creating real community. In high school, I dove into clinical research at hospitals (got published!), worked with the USDA as the only high school student nationwide in their plant protection program 🌱, and led an international STEM team through the New York Academy of Sciences to build solutions for NYC.

    Outside the lab, I spent my time teaching science and English to kids at my local temple 🧠, volunteering as a Junior Firefighter, dancing classical Kathak for 14 years 💃, playing violin for 10, and organizing community drives. Oh—and I made games with Unity and Blender, too 🎮.

    I’ve always been someone who shows up—for people, for purpose, and for the things I care about. And now, I want to show up for you.

    Why MSC Rep? Because I care. Whether it’s a finals week snack drop, a public speaking workshop, or just someone to vent to—I want to help make Macaulay feel more connected, more fun, and more you. 🤝

    Hii everyone!!!! My name is Alessia and I am running to be your City College representative for Macaulay Honors Class of 2029 <3 WOOOO

    There are no specific set of words that will allow me to convince you to vote for me, but let me tell you a little about myself and why I believe I am the perfect choice for CCNY representative. My goal in life is to be a humanitarian. This goal specifically and specially is very important to me because I’ve always had a passion for feeling connected to humanity: people of every culture, every race, every religion, everybody. I grew up in an environment where we were taught to ‘treat others the way we want to be treated’, and I took this lesson to heart. As a christian, and a simple human, it is extremely important for me to be able to love everybody in a way that will allow others to see that there is always kindness available in a world where we hate on one another for our differences.

    As for experience, in high school, I was a part of a monthly Student Improvement Team, where AP students would meet and share feedback to teachers on how classes and lessons could improve to facilitate learning. I feel as though this has prepared me to take charge, and be a voice of representation for all students who may be struggling or have ideas on how we could improve our environment as Macaulay students each day.

    As your representative, I will try my best to make everyone feel comfortable and feel that they have somebody to trust, especially at a time where most of us are strangers and are starting a new era in our lives.
    I would not offer myself in this position if I did not strongly believe that I could accomplish all the responsibilities that it takes to be a strong and trustworthy leader.

    A quote that I keep in mind with all I do: “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, and being your representative will be a start to that change.

  • Olivia Abeler Ballard

    Hey fellow Macaulay scholars! My name is Olivia and I’m a first year student studying Environmental Engineering at City College!

    MY REPRESENTATIVE BACKGROUND:
    In high school, I was the chair of the Diversity Accountability Board, a student advisory board that worked with students, faculty, board, and administration on equity. There I organized events, panels, and activities for community-building while sharpening skills in adaptive leadership and having difficult conversations. As the chair of a board, I also represented my organization at my school’s Finance Committee where I advocated for the allocation of funds across different student organizations.

    ME AS A STUDENT:
    But my background spans beyond just student representation. I sprawl across different hobbies and passions. Along with being an elected student representative, I also have experience as a student athlete as a volleyball player, musician as a saxophone player (in the wind ensemble and a jazz band), artist as the president of the Knitting and Crocheting with Love Club, journalist as a writer for the daily and quarterly student publications, and diversity representative as a facilitator for the Black affinity group.
    In these roles I organized fundraisers, hosted events, and conducted outreach across the whole student and faculty body. I subsequently received awards in all my work therein and was elected as Class Speaker for my year’s graduation ceremony.

    WHY VOTE OLIVIA?:
    I want your vote so that I can use my skills as a student leader to make Macaulay the best place for this unique student body.
    For example, I’m a cyclist, and want to improve the conditions to encourage other people who can to cycle to campus. I want to promote biking infrastructure at Macaulay’s campus so people like me don’t have to walk long distances at a time to ensure our bikes and scooters stay safe!
    I look forward to hearing every concern and implementing tangible change!

    HEY FELLOW MACAULAY STUDENTS!!!
    My name is Noor Syar, and I’m a first-year student at City College majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

    MY EXPERIENCE:
    Leadership has always played a big role in shaping who I am. As president of my high school Robotics Club, I worked to create a welcoming environment where new members felt comfortable and supported, a value I hope to carry with me at City College. This past summer, I served as an advisor for a research program at NYU, where I mentored high school students in conducting their research and by being someone they could trust, talk to, and connect with. These experiences taught me how to lead by fostering meaningful connections, listening closely, and growing alongside my peers. I hope to foster these connections with you all at City College!

    WHY I’M RUNNING:
    Since City College is primarily a commuter school, it can sometimes feel harder to build real connections, as many of us are rushing to and from campus. That’s exactly why I’m running! I want to make sure our time at Macaulay feels more than just classes and commute. I want us to have spaces where we can get to know each other, whether it’s through casual hangouts, study groups, or fun events that give us a reason to stick around and enjoy campus life together.
    When I first got to City College, the Macaulay Scholars Council made me feel like I belonged, and now I want to be that person for others. I want to help create a community where everyone feels included, supported, and heard, no matter how busy our schedules are.

    MY PROMISE:
    Whether it’s organizing events that bring us together, advocating for student needs, or simply being someone you can reach out to, I will always put our community first. I am here to listen, to problem-solve, and to represent YOU!!!
    Together, we can make our Macaulay experience meaningful and unforgettable!

    🌎… I used to be known as “the essay writer” for everything I did. Over years, I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter what you say or how long you spend saying it– but rather what you physically, socially, and visibly do to make a real difference. 🪶

    My name is Ryan, and I’m not running to be your first year representative for Macaulay CCNY.
    I am running for a chance for us all to represent each other and to open the locked gate into the Scholars Council for everyone in our cohort– decentralizing the power currently held by the position of “rep” and sharing it equally. 🗽

    My Belief: Let’s Get the Job Done with Amity, Candor & Honor 🕊
    I believe actions and visible past accomplishments speak more than any resume-style titles or unpursued plans written on paper.
