Hi, this is Abbah Fatima, Class of 2028, and I’m part of Macaulay Honors through Baruch College, majoring in Computer Information Systems. Before I was part of Macaulay, I graduated from an International High School where diversity was not just a core value, but the foundation upon which everything else was built. Being surrounded by students from all over the world made me realize how strong a community can be when people with many differences come together with respect, understanding, and shared purpose.

I served in Student Government for three years, including as President, working closely with students and staff to make ideas a reality, whether by hosting school events like Cultural Day and Carnival or just simply making sure students’ voices were being heard.

In addition, I served on a Student Advisory Council with iMentor—one of the fastest-growing and most innovative college success organizations in the country—where I worked alongside staff, including executives, and student leaders from high schools across all five boroughs of NYC to help improve the program for thousands of students.

Since I’ve lived and led in such diverse spaces, I deeply understand what it takes to build belonging across differences and I’m excited to bring that perspective to the Scholars Council.
After taking my first year to adjust and reflect, I’m ready to reconnect, contribute, and step back into student leadership—this time with the Macaulay Scholars Council.

I want to make a great use of my meaningful experiences I had a privilege of gaining by helping to create the kind of connected and inclusive community that made such a difference in my high school experience. Whether it’s by planning events that bring people, in this vast Macaulay community, together or pushing for changes that reflect what this diverse student body really needs, I’m excited to serve, listen, and lead. I hope to build bridges across campuses, open up more spaces for connection, and make sure every student has the chance to feel supported, and part of something bigger.

Let’s grow something great—together.
