Hii everyone!!!! My name is Alessia and I am running to be your City College representative for Macaulay Honors Class of 2029 <3 WOOOO
There are no specific set of words that will allow me to convince you to vote for me, but let me tell you a little about myself and why I believe I am the perfect choice for CCNY representative. My goal in life is to be a humanitarian. This goal specifically and specially is very important to me because I’ve always had a passion for feeling connected to humanity: people of every culture, every race, every religion, everybody. I grew up in an environment where we were taught to ‘treat others the way we want to be treated’, and I took this lesson to heart. As a christian, and a simple human, it is extremely important for me to be able to love everybody in a way that will allow others to see that there is always kindness available in a world where we hate on one another for our differences.
As for experience, in high school, I was a part of a monthly Student Improvement Team, where AP students would meet and share feedback to teachers on how classes and lessons could improve to facilitate learning. I feel as though this has prepared me to take charge, and be a voice of representation for all students who may be struggling or have ideas on how we could improve our environment as Macaulay students each day.
As your representative, I will try my best to make everyone feel comfortable and feel that they have somebody to trust, especially at a time where most of us are strangers and are starting a new era in our lives.
I would not offer myself in this position if I did not strongly believe that I could accomplish all the responsibilities that it takes to be a strong and trustworthy leader.
A quote that I keep in mind with all I do: “Be the change you wish to see in the world”, and being your representative will be a start to that change.
