Hello MSC!
Over the past year I’ve had an amazing time on Scholars Council, and I want to thank you all for making that time extra special. Being a part of the Macaulay community is an amazing gift, but we all know that it comes with certain limitations. Each and every event we end up scrambling for funding, and it can be difficult to figure out how to manage the limited funding we have and use it to its fullest capacity.
With that being said, this year I will be running to serve as your VP of Finance, to work directly with Macaulay central to tackle some of the financial issues the community has faced over the past few years. For too long, clubs have been under-utilizing funding, which has led to wasted money that doesn’t go back into funding circulation.
During my time on MSC, I’ve attended every Finance meeting, voted on budgets, and brought my event planning background, Finance coursework, and club experience into each and every decision I have made. As Finance VP, I will continue this contribution and expand upon it by finding ways to eliminate spending waste, work on reviving fundraising, and hold clubs accountable for inadequate funding usage. With a bigger budget coming, Macaulay needs someone who is going to make sure every dollar is properly invested into the community.
