When it comes to juggling hard classes, applying for extracurriculars, and looking for early internships, it\u2019s easy for college to feel like all hustle and no connection. I\u2019m running for Macaulay Scholars Council to make sure we DON\u2019T have to choose between getting ahead professionally. Orientation taught me an important lesson: behind the impressive resumes, none of us needs to fake a professional facade.
\nHi, my name is Susanna, I\u2019m a Finance major. Coming straight out of our high school experiences, we’re all adapting to a whole new level of college life. Over this summer, I\u2019ve spent time working in multi-department non-profit operations and exploring corporate environments like Salesforce. I know how to manage projects, pitch ideas to leadership, and turn student demands into actual results. Exposure to early professional experience in a real-world setting, I know what students from Baruch, a college known for its prestige in the professional sector, truly need, in just three components:<\/p>\n
1. Career & Recruitment Pathways: We need a Macaulay upperclassmen\/alumni network for our incoming class. I want to connect our cohort early with Macaulay upperclassmen and alumni for not only college help, but resume reviews, internship prep, and recruiting advice before sophomore year hits. For instance, hosting exclusive Baruch Macaulay Q&As with upperclassmen interns for those who wish to build shared cohort study and resume resources, so we can support each other early on.
\n2. Transparent Representation: Everyone\u2019s voice matters. As the Baruch representative, I\u2019ll keep a permanent Google Form open for you to submit questions, concerns, or ideas anytime, which I\u2019ll then bring straight to our monthly Sunday Council meetings.
\n3. Low-Stress Community: School shouldn’t be all work and no fun. I\u2019ll coordinate low-pressure study groups during midterms\/finals at the honors lounge and casual coffee hangouts around campus so we can decompress all together.<\/p>\n
