My name is Zoe Zborowski and I would be honored to serve as your Macaulay Scholars Representative for CSI!!!
As the start of the year approaches, I know how difficult this change can be. My goal is to make everyone feel welcome and valued in our community during this transition and throughout these four years. If elected, I will always be open to feedback and new ideas, as I intend to ensure everyone is represented and has the chance to make a difference.
I have extensive leadership experience through running school organisations, volunteering, and working with many different populations. I was the president of a peer mentorship program in high school, helping new students adjust to the school environment. I have also volunteered through nonprofits focusing on advocacy for children with autism and other disabilities. I continue to lead group events and educate disability rights. Through these experiences, I have learned patience, leadership, advocacy, and the importance of listening to everyone’s perspective.
If elected, my initiatives will include:
-Leading group events for Macaulay CSI students to get to know each other
-Connecting Macaulay CSI students directly with community service opportunities across the five boroughs based on their major and interests
-Campaigning for free OMNY cards
-Bring back free laptops!!!!
-Leading fundraisers for student initiatives/charities to give back to the community
-Ensuring CSI students remain connected and informed of opportunities across the boroughs including volunteering events, internships, and leadership opportunities
-Meeting with Macaulay CSI students on a regular basis to ensure everybody’s voice is heard!
By running as a slate, we are able to decrease the gap between campuses. There’s power in numbers so we promise to create a more unified community and fight for the issues that effect all cuny students including transportation, communication, finances, and making cuny a more memorable experience. Stay on the right track and if you’re from a different campus, please check out your campus candidate that’s running under The M Line!!!
As a Native Staten Islander, I know we are often overlooked and underestimated, but I believe we all have potential to do amazing things, and I will do everything in my power to give us as many opportunities as possible! Above all, I believe every person, no matter their circumstances, has the ability to achieve great things, and I intend to give everyone a voice if elected as your representative.
