Hello Fellow Scholars,
\nI want to thank all of you for welcoming me with open arms throughout my first year on MSC. For the past several months, I have had the pleasure of serving on Student Life, as we undertake the difficult task of maximizing student engagement from eight campuses across the city. This upcoming academic year will bring new challenges as we will be planning our normal events alongside significant renovations within the Macaulay Building. <\/p>\n
Throughout the year, I have prioritized engagement with all aspects of event planning. I have worked on advertising tasks, from creating posters on Canva to helping make social media content. I attended both the Halloween Party and Spring Formal, staying from set-up to clean-up, meaning I have a good sense of how to logistically execute these events the day of. While planning the Macaulay Olympics, I worked alongside the logistics committee to create rulesets and rosters, so I\u2019m well-versed in the more \u201cmundane\u201d and tedious aspects of event planning. <\/p>\n
As previously stated, the upcoming renovations to the Macaulay Building will pose a challenge, as we will have to plan our events in new spaces. This challenge requires creativity, patience, and communication. Earlier this year, I was able to turn a small classroom into an immersive escape room experience, so I\u2019m confident in my ability to accommodate our events in new spaces. We are so grateful that many clubs have agreed to collaborate with us for our events, and I intend to maintain communication with them so they have adequate space for their activities. <\/p>\n
Beyond logistics, student life requires enthusiasm and energy. I am proud of the engagement I have been able to foster with my distant Lehman campus. With the support of my committee and MSC, I\u2019m confident I will lead student life to continue doing amazing work and build on that momentum moving forward.<\/p>\n
