The MSC and its members develop and support some of Macaulay\u2019s traditional community events, such as the Spring Formal, Halloween Party, and New Student Mixer. You can view the full duties of the council and Macaulay Scholars Council Charter <a href=\"https:\/\/macaulay.cuny.edu\/eportfolios\/macaulayscholarscouncil\/about-the-council\/macaulay-scholars-council-charter\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<h3><strong>Want to become a part of the Executive Board on the Scholars Council for 2026-2027? Here\u2019s how:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Please note, representatives must be available for <a href=\"https:\/\/macaulay.campusgroups.com\/events?group_ids=19603\">council meetings<\/a>. Meetings are held once a month on Sundays from 11:00am-1:00pm. See <a href=\"https:\/\/macaulay.cuny.edu\/student-life\/student-government\/\">here<\/a> for full list of eligibility.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Students must be a member of their respective campus and class.<br \/>\n\u2022 Be enrolled for classes as a Macaulay Honors student during the semester in which they are serving.<br \/>\n\u2022 In order to take office, a candidate must be in good academic standing.<br \/>\n\u2022 All elected student government representatives are required to complete SPARC training.<\/p>\n<div class=\"lightweight-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"lightweight-accordion-title\"><h3><strong>STEP 1:<\/strong> Submit a Statement of Interest <\/h3><\/summary><div class=\"lightweight-accordion-body\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.macaulay.cuny.edu\/mscelections\/submit-a-candidate\/\">Submit a statement of interest<\/a> between <strong>Tuesday, April 7 and Monday, May 25 at midnight.<\/strong>\u00a0 All candidates, new and incumbent, must send a statement. Include details that highlight your leadership skills and the theme of your candidacy. <a href=\"https:\/\/community.macaulay.cuny.edu\/mscelections\/files\/2019\/02\/Screen-Shot-2019-02-20-at-10.34.28-AM.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Here\u2019s a sample.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<div class=\"lightweight-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"lightweight-accordion-title\"><h3><strong>STEP 2:<\/strong> Promote Your Campaign<\/h3><\/summary><div class=\"lightweight-accordion-body\"><p>Candidate statements will appear on this site as candidates submit them. Your fellow students will use the statements to decide how to vote. You may view the Candidate Advertising and Campaign Guidelines <a href=\"http:\/\/community.macaulay.cuny.edu\/mscelections\/candidate-advertising-campaign-guidelines\/\">here<\/a> to see what you can do to share your candidacy and encourage fellow students to vote.<\/p>\n<p>Each candidate running for a position will have the opportunity to make a 2-minute speech at the first 2026-2027 Macaulay Scholars Council meeting that will be happening in-person on Friday, May 29 from 11am-1pm. The speech should address why you are running and what you hope to accomplish. In addition to speeches, all representatives will be able to read the candidate statements online here: https:\/\/community.macaulay.cuny.edu\/mscelections\/.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any extenuating circumstances that will prohibit you from attending the meeting on May 29, please let us know by emailing student.clubs@mhc.cuny.edu no later than May 25.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<div class=\"lightweight-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"lightweight-accordion-title\"><h3><strong>STEP 3:<\/strong> Voting<\/h3><\/summary><div class=\"lightweight-accordion-body\"><p>Voting will take place in person on <strong>Friday, May 29<\/strong> during the Scholars Council meeting<strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<div class=\"lightweight-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"lightweight-accordion-title\"><h3><strong>STEP 4:<\/strong> Results<\/h3><\/summary><div class=\"lightweight-accordion-body\"><p>Results will be announced in-person during the May 29th Scholars Council meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<div class=\"lightweight-accordion\"><details><summary class=\"lightweight-accordion-title\"><h3><strong>STEP 5: <\/strong>Meet with Scholars Council Representatives and Leadership Retreat<\/h3><\/summary><div class=\"lightweight-accordion-body\"><p>Meet your fellow Macaulay Scholars Council representatives at the mandatory meeting on <b>Friday, May 29th.<\/b> All elected representatives are also required to attend a leadership retreat in the Fall 2026 semester.
