Being a Macaulay Scholars Council (MSC) representative makes a difference!<\/h3>\n

More than just a student government body, the Scholars Council is an important and influential voice of the Macaulay student body at CUNY.<\/p>\n

The Macaulay Scholars Council Mission<\/b><\/h3><\/summary>

The Council\u2019s mission is to promote an informed and involved student body, build cross-campus relationships through sponsorship of various activities, and provide input to the Macaulay administration. The MSC and its members develop and support some of Macaulay\u2019s traditional community events, such as the Spring Formal, Halloween Party, and New Student Mixer. Want to become a Class of 2030 Representative for the Scholars Council for 2026-2027? Here\u2019s how:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Please note, representatives must be available for council meetings<\/a>. Meetings are held once a month on Sundays from 11:00am-1:00pm. See here<\/a> for full list of eligibility.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Students must be a member of their respective campus and class.
\n\u2022 Be enrolled for classes as a Macaulay Honors student during the semester in which they are serving.
\n\u2022 In order to take office, a candidate must be in good academic standing.
\n\u2022 All elected student government representatives are required to complete SPARC training.<\/p>\n

STEP 1:<\/strong> Submit a Statement of Interest <\/h3><\/summary>

Submit a statement of interest<\/a> between Wednesday, August 12 – Wednesday, September 2\u00a0at midnight.<\/strong>\u00a0 All candidates, new and incumbent, must send a statement. Include details that highlight your leadership skills and the theme of your candidacy. Here\u2019s a sample.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n

STEP 2:<\/strong> Promote Your Campaign<\/h3><\/summary>

Candidate statements will appear on this site as candidates submit them. Your fellow students will use the statements to decide how to vote. You may view the Candidate Advertising and Campaign Guidelines here<\/a> to see what you can do to share your candidacy and encourage fellow students to vote.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n

STEP 3:<\/strong> Voting<\/h3><\/summary>

Voting will take place online from Friday, September 4 – Monday, September 14<\/strong> through Club Macaulay.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n

STEP 4:<\/strong> Results<\/h3><\/summary>

Results will be announced on Thursday, September 17<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n

STEP 5: <\/strong>Meet with Scholars Council Representatives and Leadership Retreat<\/h3><\/summary>

Meet your fellow Macaulay Scholars Council representatives at the mandatory meeting on Sunday, September 20 from 11:00am-1:00pm.<\/strong> All elected representatives are also required to attend a leadership retreat in the Fall 2026 semester. Dates are scheduled for Friday, October 2 – Sunday, October 4.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/details><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
