Description

This is an exciting and fruitful opportunity to learn and become part of the future technology industries beginning to blossom in NYC. The NYU Tandon School of Engineering in conjunction with NYC Media Lab and Macaulay Honors College New Media Lab have developed a pilot internship and jobs opportunity program for up to 10 Macaulay students to be part of a new tech hub called RLab. The R stands for “reality” and the work is exclusively in augmented and virtual reality projects.

If you are a student with skills and interest in technology this might be perfect for you. We are interested in students who can bring ideas to start-up companies associated with RLab.

Applicants must demonstrate abilities in some of these skills:

  • computer sciences
  • graphic arts
  • adobe creative cloud
  • digital storytelling
  • data science
  • data analytics
  • data visualization
  • content creation
  • video arts
  • 3d modeling
  • basic understanding of Python, Unity, C++ and / or some coding in general

Program Benefits

  • Work in the industry with stakeholder companies such as Weill Cornell Medicine, Datavized Technologies, Geopipe , Dot Dot, Ovee, and FactualVR. You will have exposure to media and tech projects.
  • Students will be brought in as part of an actual working team to make advancements and engage with leaders in their field.
  • Lend your creative abilities and opinions to Augmented and Virtual Reality projects in development.
  • Work directly with people in these types of stakeholder companies
    Following a successful internship, the companies would hope to offer employment after graduation.

Required Commitment

10 Hours per week at Brooklyn Navy Yard- Building #22 / Also various tech startup offices around New York

Begin with a weekend boot-camp to become familiar with expectations and the staff
